Toreros football wins first PFL championship since ‘06
Caragher named Coach of the Year; Oliaro named Defensive Player of the Year
It has been a very big couple of weeks for the Toreros football team. The Toreros won their fourth Pioneer Football League championship and their first since 2007 with a 23-14 victory over the Jacksonville UniversityBulldogs on Nov. 19. Twenty-one seniors were able to finish their careers on a high note and in impressive fashion.

Toreros to play for share of PFL title this weekend at home
In a contest that was held under terrible conditions, the University of San Diego football team pulled off a narrow victory this past Saturday, beating Marist College 13-7. Rain and mud plagued both teams as neither were able to get the offenses rolling, resulting in a very hard-fought defensive struggle. With the Toreros victory, the team now can win a share of the Pioneer Football League title if they win this weekend.

Football wins in roller coaster of a contest against Dayton
The University of San Diego football team was able to rack up another victory in a must win game, beating the University of Dayton Flyers by a score of 31-28 on Saturday. With the win, the Toreros improve to 7-2 on the season and 5-1 in the Pioneer Football League standings. Kenn James had another outstanding performance, rushing for 184 yards and three scores to help catapult the Toreros past the Flyers.
